The 2011 Husaberg FE570

The Husaberg FE570 is a street-legal "enduro" motorcycle. It's a 4-stroke dirt bike capable of any offroad riding that you might want to do. Although it's street legal, it's made for offroad riding and racing, with just enough street legal equipment to be licensed and used on the streets primarily to get from one dirt trail to the next.

I had been riding my Husky TE310 as a dualsport bike, but found that I sometimes wanted a larger bike. The TE310 was great in the dirt, but there's times when there's a bit more pavement to ride to either get to the dirt or between dirt sections. One afternoon I flew into Vegas, and as I'm driving to my Mom's house I noticed a new KTM and Husaberg dealership had opened (Champion Motorcycles). On an impulse, I decided to buy the Husaberg 570 (and later sold the Husky).

I ended up picking up the Husaberg two days before the 2011 LA-to-Barstow-to-Vegas Dualsport Ride. The next day, I trucked the bike to Palmdale and was able to get about 20 miles on the bike; and then the next morning I was breaking the bike in on the LA2B2V.

Here's pics of the bike the day that I picked it up. I just added a front fender bag to carry spare tubes, and a Mojavi bag to carry tools; and she was ready to tackle to LA2B2V Dualsport Ride.

The Husaberg is a dream to ride. Plenty of power - it's a wheelie machine if you want it to be! It handles perfectly. It has enough power to handle long stretches of pavement, and then turns into an incredible offroad bike once you hit the dirt. It's such a perfect bike that I ended up buying another (an '09 being turned into a rally bike).

It's taken me throughout the California and Nevada deserts, to Moab Utah, and to Baja.
