Northern
Baja - October 2014
Day 4 - Sunday, November 2
The
last day ended up with us looking at wet bikes - it had rained during
the night. My foam grips and suede seat were wet. At the time we woke
up, the sun was shining though so we moved the bikes out into the sun
to dry out. Then we had a great HP Ranch breakfast - pancakes, eggs
with chorizo, beans, fruit, and tortillas.
After breakfast and getting everything together, we headed east on the
highway for a few miles before cutting north and a really fun route
into Ojos Negros, before hitting the Compadre Trail north.
Some pics from the
day...

We got to Tecate, tried to get
to the front of the line to cross the border and were turned back by
the local policeman - the military usually doesn't care, and lets
motorcycles to the front. Not a big deal, we waited maybe about 1/2
hour to cross.
Then Arnie and Todd left for home. I loaded up my my bike in the truck,
while Rich and Rob loaded their bikes on to Rich's trailer. The three
of us stopped for pizza at Filippi's in Jamul before heading on our
ways back north.
Thanks to Arnie, Todd, Rich, and Rob for the great company for the 4
days! We enjoyed a fantastic Baja ride, with absolutely minimal
problems (a weak battery on a cold morning being the worst) and no
injuries.
