The Heritage Classic Ride

Day 6 - July 24, 2007

It was the last day of our ride, and back to Nashville today. We stopped at the hang-gliding ramp on the west side of Lookout Mountain to look over the edge. Not sure if I'd ever want to run off the edge with a kite strapped to my back, but to each his own...

Hang-Gliding Ramp on Lookout Mountain

We ended up taking Hwy 127 north towards Pikeville. It was a dark and cloudy day, and about 15 miles before Pikeville the skies opened up and it just poured on us. We kept riding through the rain, and finally decided to stop in Pikeville to put on our rain suits over our already soaked clothing. After putting on our rainsuits, we headed west on Hwy 30 towards Spencer. Of course, as could be expected, the skies cleared, the weather got warmer, and now our wet clothes are steaming under the rainsuits. So once in Spencer, we take the rainsuits back off.

Heading towards Pikesville - Hwy 127

After Spencer, we take Hwy 70S west toward Murfreesboro and stop for lunch. After lunch, Pete and I part ways, with Pete heading south back to Atlanta. I head north to return the Harley Heritage Classic back to Boswell's HD in Nashville. The next day I fly back to Edmonton.

After Lunch in Murfreesboro

This was an outstanding trip. Although I would have loved to have been on my GS (especially on all of the twisty roads we took), I really had fun on the HD Heritage Classic; and riding with Pete is always a joy.

It's really all about riding on 2 wheels!  2 Wheels = Fun!!!
